Become a Licensee

In order to become a Woodsy Owl licensee, please take the following steps:

1. Submit a license proposal. Applications can be downloaded from here. If you have questions about filling out the proposal, please call the Metis Group at 202.822.5080 and ask for Sophia Tambouratzis (ext. 22) or email at stambouratzis@themetisgroup.com.
2. Send your licensing proposal to:

3. The Metis Group will work with the USDA Forest Service to review your application. Following out discussion, you will be contacted. If you application is accepted, The Metis Group will work with you to agree on royalty rates. Royalties can be either a flat fee or a percentage of sales, or a per item fee. Licenses are negotiated on an individual basis.
4. If the Forest Service approves the agreement, you will receive a signed copy of the licensing agreement at which time you can begin production of your licensed items.
